Pool Arts, the organisation, is a work of art in its own right, that is constantly evolving and adapting itself to create opportunities for artists who may otherwise find themselves isolated or excluded – it asks who an artist might be today

Pool Arts aims to challenge the barriers that some artists face, by providing opportunities to create:

  • Innovative exhibitions
  • New art work
  • Personal and professional development and facilities for artists in the Manchester (UK) area.
  • Pool Arts is an innovative arts organization – formed in 1999 – run by and for its members.

The artists involved come from diverse backgrounds and their chosen art forms are equally varied. Pool Arts include writers, photographers, textile and fashion artists, craftspeople and a DJ as well as contemporary visual artists. They are working to create a supportive framework, giving their members opportunities to produce, promote and sell their own artwork.

Pool Arts aims to educate the public about the positive effects on well being of involvement with the arts and provide studio space, support, training, professional and personal development opportunities for members.

Pool Arts is an innovative arts organization formed in 1999. Pool Arts helps to raise awareness of the positive role that art and culture can play in well being by providing a positive role model of an arts organisation successfully run by its members. Through our work in the local, regional and national networks of art, health and arts and health projects, Pool Arts aim contribute to this growing area of interest with their pioneering company.
